The Story
A few years ago, one of us asked her dad a question. If the technology existed for you to leave your voice, your stories, the way you think and speak and love, behind for someone, would you want to?
He said yes. But only if he could be certain it would go to one person, and only that person. Her.
We started building OVYU™ because we wanted this for our own families first. That care is also why privacy sits at the center of everything we're building. This is deeply personal, so it has to be private, held for one person, protected with the kind of honor that ancestral passing down has always asked of us.
How It Works
You choose one person, the one you want to leave this for.
You share your voice, your stories, your beliefs, what moves you, what you love etc. a little at a time, whenever you want to.
One day, when you're gone, that person doesn't get a recording to listen to. They get something made from everything you shared, in your voice, someone they can actually talk to.
Hi, I'm

I called my mother's phone for months after she passed, just to hear her voicemail greeting. Then the number was disconnected, and the recording was gone. I don't have a single recording of my mother's voice. I grew up in a close-knit family in India, where love, respect, and togetherness were at the center of everything we did, my parents held our whole family together through hard work, sacrifice, and love that never asked for anything back. Losing her voice meant losing a piece of all of that.
Years later, I became a single mother raising two sons on my own, and I understood something I hadn't fully felt before. One day, they'll reach for my voice the way I still reach for my mother's. I want them to have it when they do, my stories, the way I laugh, still there to find.
I've spent 25 years as a Principal Engineer, working across networking, cloud infrastructure, and more recently AI-driven systems, the kind of technology that runs quietly in millions of lives without anyone noticing. OVYU™ is the first time that work is turning personal. I know what it means to lose a voice you'd give anything to hear again, and that's exactly why I'm building this, not just for the people I love, but for anyone who understands what it means to carry their family forward.
Years ago, I started recording my dad, his stories, his voice, all the way back into the history of Morocco itself. I remember thinking, how will I ever hear this again, exactly like this, once he's gone. The specific pause before a punchline. The way he says a name.
I grew up between places, Morocco and everywhere after, and it taught me that where you come from doesn't loosen its grip just because you've left, it gets even more precious. It's always been about the humans for me, what makes us who we are, what drives us genetically, socially, culturally, the thing underneath all of it that makes us us. I studied advertising and sociology, then spent 15 years, in-house and at agencies, on brands like Intel, Gatorade, and the Gates Foundation, always more interested in the humans on the other side of the product than the product itself.
It's no surprise OVYU™ is what I'm building. It takes heart, curiosity, and real passion to even attempt. A responsibility inspired by a felt ancestry, lived and carried, that teaches you what it means to preserve someone, to honor them fully. OVYU™, to me, is the nuances, the complexities, the fascinations of the human spirit, given the care they deserve.
